When you make changes to your home, you might as well go big—that’s exactly what our client in Forrestridge did. Between the interior and the exterior, few spaces went untouched.
First Impressions
Starting outside, we took out the front-facing windows and added in solid vinyl replacements. We added a new fiberglass front door entry system, complete with leaded glass, a circular window on top, and side lights to give it a welcoming glow at night.
A Summer Refuge
Texas summers can get brutal, so our client opted to enclose their porch and build a refuge from the summer heat.
After removing some columns and strengthening the roof system, we enclosed the porch completely with screens and a new screen door. The interior of this space is all cedar, with concrete siding and wood-look ceramic tile flooring.
The Kitchen of Your Dreams
You spend so much time in your kitchen that it ought to be comfortable, right? That’s what our clients thought, so we redid the whole thing!
We started by restaining the cabinets a smooth, dark color. Then we added all new appliances, installed a new island, added a new backsplash, replaced the countertops with granite countertops, replaced the existing lights with new LED lighting, added under-cabinet lights, and finished with a new hutch.
A Living Room to Relax In
Once the kitchen was squared away, we focused on the living room. Adding 8-inch oak plank flooring changed the entire feel of the room while an entirely new coat of paint brightened the space and set the stage for the main course—the new surround in the fireplace.
Finally, we refinished the indoor stairway, including posts and railings, while changing out the old wooden balusters to iron balusters.
An Opulent Master Bath
The master bath is a course in opulence. This was a complete demolition and remodel. We added extra counter space, new cabinets—with under- and over-cabinet lighting—quartz countertops, and porcelain tile flooring.
The shower is completely new, as are the mirrored closet doors. The room was repainted, and the windows were redone to let in plenty of light while still obscuring vision from outside and inside.
