Kraft Building & Remodeling built this home several years ago and returned to convert the back porch into an office and bath suite.
- The original home features WWII Liberty Ship porthole windows along the front exterior wall. These windows were sourced at a nautical antique shop in Dallas. Installing these round windows required custom work to fit windows into the drywall and circular trim on the exterior.
- The office addition includes a full bath, oversized walk-in closet, Anderson windows, and beautiful white oak floors.
- The windows in the room are fully trimmed and include an automatic window shade.
- The entire room is trimmed in crown molding.
- The oversized closet has 3 entries with 2 different door heights. This creates dimension and interest.
- Lighting in the room is provided by 6” recessed can lights.
- The full bath features a shower with porcelain tiles and glass accent tiles, and a frameless shower glass.
- All fixtures in the bathroom are champagne brass.
- The decorative tile border on the outside of the shower is a french style tile in accent colors.
- Kraft Building & Remodeling used six different types of wood to create a custom mirror. The tope edge, antique finish, and mantle above the mirror give it a completely unique look that fits the feel of this nautical, lake-side house.
- The interior hallway that used to overlook the porch has had the windows removed and additional custom shelving and new cabinet doors installed.
- All materials and construction for the exterior of the addition seamlessly match the original home.
